What is the square wave ’
Studies have shown that stimulation is more effective and comfortable when current pulses have a square shape and symmetrical.
The square shape is more beneficial because it allows you to:
– snap the muscle action potential in shorter time (rump-up vertical)
-optimising the effectiveness of the impulse due to the larger area (more intensely in a shorter time) square wave than other waveforms.
The current also must be compensated (symmetric impulse shape) so as to avoid polarization effects (ionoforetici) either electrical or chemical. This type of current is then positive and negative values symmetrically opposed giving a result equal to zero, thus avoiding redness or burning sensation on the skin.
